The Elite walk-in tub shell is supported by durable stainless steel frame and is setup for above the floor drain installation. That is why there is 8″ high threshold. This default option allows for quick and easy above the floor drain installation. Elite line walk-in tub frame design and removable toe kick access panel allows to decrease the threshold height by another 3 inches. In that case the total threshold height can be lowered to 5 inches and drains must be installed below the floor level. The exterior height of Elite walk in tub (threshold height) can be lowered up to 3 inches by adjusting legs of supporting frame. The horizontal toe kick access panel must be removed when Elite walk in tub is lowered and custom sized baseboard (not supplied) must be custom fit and installed to fit desired height. Forty inches (39”) is approximate exterior height for above the floor drain installation. One end access panel and extension panel to fit sixty inch (60”) opening are included.
